Discover something new at your library, 9-14 October 2017

October 2017 will see the first ever Libraries Week – a showcase of all the creative, innovative and diverse activities that UK libraries have to offer.

Monday 9 to Saturday 14 October is a chance for people to discover something new at their library – from code clubs to play and learning for children, to managing their health, to finding a job, a hobby or starting a business.

We encourage everyone to discover what libraries can do for them this Autumn.

Why libraries matter

“A safe space for everyone and anyone to learn and discover” – Joseph Coelho

Libraries support a range of agendas from health to the economy: they help to increase reading and literacy, improve digital access, and contribute to greater prosperity by supporting entrepreneurs and people seeking work. Libraries support lifelong learning, provide cultural and creative experiences and support research and innovation.
